Since 1994, Washington NASA Space Grant has awarded scholarships to promising Seattle Central Community College students.
Washington NASA Space Grant Scholarships are one-year awards presented to students in science, mathematics, engineering or science education, who show exceptional promise and intend to continue their studies at a four-year institution.
Students who have overcome obstacles (whether financial, personal, and/or academic) and who are now deeply committed to getting a good education are often among the awardees. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Women and underrepresented minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Many of these talented community college students have gone on to receive WSGC transfer scholarships at the University of Washington.
In 2008, Seattle Central also established a Space Grant transfer scholarship program to provide support for students advancing to four-year institutions.
