Museum of Flight Educator Reference Library
Museum of Flight Resource Center is currently open by appointment only. Please contact Gary Johnson at 206-768-7128, or via e-mail at gjohnson@museumofflight.org.
The Museum of Flight Reference Library was created to serve the needs
of educators and researchers. Library components include
a designated FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Resource Center and a
satellite NASA Regional Teachers Resource Center.
Materials are available to enrich existing curriculum with interactive aerospace activities
that facilitate teaching across the disciplines. The library also maintains
copies of flight curricula submitted by area teachers and resource lists
on aerospace organizations and software. Thematic specialities include the
physics of flight, Washington State history, living in space, the solar
system, the Hubble Space Telescope, the Moon and aerospace career guides.
Most resources in the collection are available free to educators,
though some materials require a small duplication fee. Lesson plans and
curricula may be photocopied free of charge. Slide sets may be checked out for two weeks. Videotapes may be duplicated
if a blank tape is provided. There is a small videotape processing fee to
offset shipping and handling.
